Paul Brown developed his hair straightening services in the late 1980's when he visited Korea to work with the royal family. He discovered that all cultures have many hair types within them.When he arrived in Hawaii, he discovered a certin dryness in hair that was nearly untreatable. Yet, there was a culture who was known for their supple, shiny hair and skin- the Polynesians. He found they had a valuable secret. They were using the oil of a nut found ont he Island. The nut is called Kukui. Polynesians bathed in it, rubbed it on the skin of their babies, and treated their hair with it. This oil, along with 12 other island botanicals was developed into what is called called Hawaiin Protein Flora Complex, or HPFC. It is present in all Paul Brown products, including all of the straightening processes he developed. The HPFC is the secret to straighting hair and keeping it healthy and shiny. There is a treatment for all hair types, including highlighted and color treated hair, as well as ethnic hair.
